Menstruation generally comes once a month with symptoms of PMS preceded first. However, not all women experience PMS, making it difficult for them to "predict" when monthly guests will visit. Then menstruation can suddenly appear at the wrong time when you don't have proper preparation. So, are there signs of menstruation that are more easily recognized?
Signs of menstruation will come soon
1. Abdominal cramps
Abdominal cramps are the most typical sign of menstruation. It usually appears 1 to 2 days before your menstrual schedule. Relax, this stomach cramps will usually disappear when you have menstruation.
2. Pimples appear
Apart from cramps, the appearance of acne is the most recognizable menstrual signs. The body's hormone levels that increase before menstruation can cause facial skin to produce oil (sebum) excessively. Oil deposits will eventually clog the pores and "produce" pimples.
3. The breasts feel dense and painful when touched
If the breast feels swollen, heavier, and feels pain, especially on the outer side, these are signs of your menstruation coming soon. Breast changes are caused by an increase in the hormone prolactin, a hormone that increases milk production.
4. Exhausted but insomnia
When monthly guests are coming soon, you will be more difficult to sleep at night even though your body has been exhausted. This is the accumulation of a combination of hormonal changes before menstruation coupled with physical stress because of a tired body and emotional stress from daily activities.
5. Constipation or diarrhea
Some women can complain of indigestion a few days before menstruation comes, such as constipation or even diarrhea.
This is because of the increase in hormones before menstruation. Increased prostaglandin triggers the intestines to contract causing diarrhea, while an increase in progesterone can trigger constipation.
6. Flatulence
Have you eaten regularly, but the stomach still feels bloated and squashed? It could be that you want to menstruate soon.
To overcome this, try reducing your intake of high-salt foods and replace them with more fruit and vegetable foods, and regular exercise.
7. Headache
Some women who are about to menstruate usually experience severe headaches. Apparently, this has to do with changes in the body's estrogen levels which can interfere with hormones in the brain. As a result, headaches cannot be avoided.
8. Mood swing
In addition to physical changes, menstruation can also change your mood to become unstable - aka mood swing. You may get angry quickly or suddenly cry, even though you were happy before.
